The much anticipated revamped Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! in the Mother City, will be re-introduced to the young at heart.

This sizzling hot metropolitan hotel once again guarantees an energetic, exciting experience that will certainly attract a great deal of attention and generate conversation amongst brand igniters.

There is no doubt that Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! will become the hottest place to chill in Cape Town this summer setting the tone for the exciting events of 2010. The newly extended hotel offers exceptional value for money – exceeding the usual 3-star stereotype with “Gucci” style décor, slick service and features usually expected in luxury hotels.

Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! has gone through an evolution over the past few years from a small hotel aimed at the adventurous, to a more urban chic vibe – either way, it is targeted at the “forever young” set of people. The hotel has added a further 59 rooms and 12 loft apartments, a complimentary Internet centre, fitness centre with state of the art Technogym equipment, 24 hour room service and a private lounge and pool area, only for hotel guests.

The existing restaurant and lounge areas have also been redecorated to incorporate an edgier and stylish feel to compliment the extension.  The hotel won Best New Hotel Development at the TBCSA 2008 Hospitality Investment Awards which ties in nicely with the recent Sunday Times Generation Next 2009 annual youth survey, where Protea Hotels was awarded the Coolest Hotel Group in the hotel category.

“We listened to what our guests wanted and have delivered a product based on these needs, “ said Danny Bryer, Group Sales, Marketing and Revenue Director, Protea Hotels, “The success of Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! has lead to us increasing the number of bedrooms and offering larger conference facilities - we believe this offering will exceed the market’s expectations.”

The major attraction, however, is the state of the art, yet affordable, conference facilities which will definitely appeal to corporate companies looking for a unique offering.  These facilities include three separate venues that are ideally suited for executive board meetings and two multi-use rooms equipped to hold functions for up to 80 delegates, making this the perfect venue for product launches, conferences, training or end of year parties.

Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! is situated in the entertainment hub of the Cape Town CBD – wherever you want to go, whatever you want to do is never too much hassle. The hotel is minutes away from the V&A Waterfront, Clifton and Camps Bay beaches, Table Mountain, and the bars and restaurants of Long Street and nearby Kloof Street.
