Four Seasons Hotel Damascus owned by Kingdom Hotel Investments was awarded The Number One Hotel in Syria.

The annual event is widely recognized as the world’s premier awards ceremony and is considered the “Oscars” of the hospitality and travel industry, recognizing exceptional levels of quality and service by global travel providers.

HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company and Kingdom Hotel Investments commented: "This is another important achievement for Kingdom Holding Company."

In 2006, His Excellency President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad and Prince Alwaleed inaugurated the Damascus Four Seasons Hotel.

The 297 guest rooms and suites of the hotel set a new benchmark for quality and spaciousness in Damascus. They include fully serviced residential apartments – the first of their kind in Syria – catering specifically to long-stay guests. Decorated in pale tones that complement the dusky hues of the city outside, all the rooms have prominent views over the Barada River, mountains, city or the public gardens adjacent to the Hotel.

The Four Seasons Hotel Damascus is under the management of Four Seasons in which Kingdom Holding holds a 47.5% stake and is co-owned by Bill Gates’ Cascade in which the company also holds a 47.5% stake, and 5% of the Four Seasons is owned by Isadore Sharp.

Also this year, Paris`s Four Seasons Hotel George V was ranked Best City Hotel Worldwide in the 2008/09 Gallivanter’s Guide for 6 consecutive years. George V topped the list of world hotels in that category and was described as "hotel perfection" of hotels.

Moreover Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh was ranked “The Best Hotel in Riyadh 2009” according to Business Traveller Magazine at “The Business Traveller Awards 2009” ceremony during Arabian Travel Market Conference in Dubai.
